I was very fortunate to have learned to dance Salsa from Tony. I started with him as a complete beginner back in September 1999. My five years ballet background, my unwavering determination and the high standards that Tony had set for me were definitely the perfect recipe for becoming the dancer I am today. But most of all, I believe it was my never-ending love for salsa that was the real driving force that pushed me to become one of Vancouver's top Salseras.

Then, in December of 2000, I joined Tony's dance team and took on the role of assistant instructor. I can not tell you how grateful I am for that experience for it had taken my already exceptional dance skills to an even higher level. Being Tony's co-instructor I learned the ability to break down moves to their simplest form and working one-on-one with our students helped to really understand the dance inside out.

You've got to love and listen to the music when it’s playing to really be able to dance inside the music. And that’s what I express when I'm on the dance floor. But it doesn't stop there. And now I want to share a little secret with all you ladies, sorry boys. Next to feeling the music, the one thing that is absolutely necessary to be an amazing female Salsa dancer is the ability to follow no matter what style of Salsa you are being led through. This is one of the most valuable skill that I have learned and mastered from being a Salsa instructor.
